MEMBER OF THE MONTH: OCTOBER 2014

Bruce Ashcraft

Cars, music, golf, and family characterize the major facets of my life. Music was my first love, and ultimately became my vocation. I taught vocal music to children aged kindergarten through college for over 35 years, concentrating at high school levels, as well as directing church choral music.

At age twelve, I saw my first photo of a Corvette – a 1954 turquoise and white ‘Vette; the most beautiful car I’d ever seen! At last, 60 years later, I own one – a 1999 torch red, 5.7 liter, 345 hp automatic C5 convertible. We bought it from a local El Campo businessman who used it to take special road trips with his wife. Rhonda, my wife of 34 years, and I refer to it as the “R.V.”.

I drive it most every day, wash it at least twice a week, and use the experts at Corvette World of Houston to take care of any problems that surface.  We do our best to allow it to live up to its description of our red ‘vette or “Recreational Vehicle” by driving it, top down, wherever and whenever possible.

We love our ‘vette and our Corvette club, the Corvette Owner’s Club of Houston. This group offers friendship and exciting, fun opportunities to us and “OUR RV”. Thank you for everything.
